Takao Ochi, Member, House of Representatives
A fifth-term Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) member of Japan’s National Diet, Takao Ochi represents Tokyo’s 6th District in the House of Representatives.
Rep.Ochi is Secretary-General, Research Commission on the Finance and Banking Systems as well as Acting Secretary-General, Headquarters for Achieving New Capitalism, Policy Research Council, LDP.
From 2016 to 2018, Rep.Ochi served as State Minister of Cabinet Office for Economic & Fiscal Policy and Financial Services.
Prior to his election to the Diet, Rep. Ochi worked for 13 years at Sumitomo Bank (now Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation) and served as a Diet staffer.
He received a BA in economics from Keio University, obtained diploma from ESSEC Business School in France, and has a master's degree in Japanese political and diplomatic history from the University of Tokyo.
