Hirofumi Yoshimura is the Governor of Osaka Prefecture, 2nd largest prefecture in Japan. In 2011, he was elected as a member of the Osaka City Council and began his career as a politician. In 2014 he was elected to the House of Representatives, became the Mayor of Osaka City the following year, and has been serving as the Governor of Osaka Prefecture since 2019.
He graduated from Kyushu University Faculty of Law, and registered as a lawyer in 2000.
