Tadashi Yamamoto (Yamamoto) graduated from the Faculty of Economics, University of Tokyo in 1992, and joined the Bank of Tokyo (now MUFG Bank) in the same year. He has worked as an economist in economic and financial research at the Economic Research Office and the Bank of Japan, and involved in credit risk management at the Credit Policy & Planning Division. He has also experienced management strategy formulation and governance strengthening at the Corporate Planning Division, and involved in correspondence with industry at the Japanese Bankers Association during the Great East Japan Earthquake. (Yamamoto) has served as Deputy General Manager at Planning Division for East Asia since 2017, Executive Officer and Head of Credit Policy & Planning Division since 2018, and Executive Officer and Head of Corporate Planning Division since 2021. In 2022, he was appointed as Managing Executive Officer and the Chief Strategy Officer of MUFG Bank, responsible for the bank’s overall strategy. Appointed Managing Executive Officer and Chief Digital Transformation Officer (CDTO) in 2023, and has been serving as Senior Managing Executive Officer in the same role since April 2026.
