Can Sun, J.D., Ph.D., is a co-founder of Backpack Exchange, a regulated global cryptocurrency exchange. Prior to Backpack, Can served as General Counsel at FTX International, where he oversaw the former exchange’s legal operations and regulatory strategies across all non-US jurisdictions. Prior to FTX, Can co-chaired the Blockchain Practice Group at Fenwick & West LLP, where he played a pivotal role in advising hundreds of token projects, stablecoins, and major exchanges in their compliance and regulatory matters. Can holds a Juris Doctor from Yale Law School and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University.
