Media Artist
Media Artist. Born in 1987, he began his artistic career around 2010. His work revolves around the motifs of materialization and transformation in boundary domains, as well as a longing for mass. He serves as a Professor at the University of Tsukuba and an Associate Professor at the University of Tokyo, and is a Thematic Project Producer for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
His notable works include the photobook "Longing for Mass" (amana, 2019) and the NFT artwork "Re-Digitalization of Waves" (foundation, 2021).
His major accolades include the Prix Ars Electronica Honorary Mention (2016), the STARTS Prize from the European Union, and the SXSW Creative Experience ARROW Award (2019). He has also been named one of Apollo Magazine’s "40 UNDER 40 ART and TECH," received the Excellence Award at the Asia Digital Art Award, and has had numerous works selected as Jury Recommended Works in the Art Division of the Japan Media Arts Festival.
