Hitoshi Harada is the Co-Founder, Chief Technology Officer, and Chief
Product Officer of Alpaca, where he leads the company’s technology, product, and platform strategy. He has been central to building Alpaca’s trading and brokerage infrastructure, translating complex market, clearing, and developer requirements into scalable API products for financial institutions, fintechs, developers, and retail traders globally.
Before co-founding Alpaca, Hitoshi served as a Principal Engineer at Pivotal, where he worked on large-scale data systems. He is also a recognized contributor to open-source PostgreSQL, including features such as Window Functions. His background spans database architecture, distributed systems, and financial technology infrastructure. Hitoshi holds a degree from Keio University in Tokyo and is an alum of Y Combinator.
