After beginning his career at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (Power Systems), he worked at Accenture in strategy consulting, and then at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, where he specialized in international project finance and led SMBC Silicon Valley Digital Innovation Lab. He currently serves in his present role while also acting as an advisor and board member to Japanese IT startups, as well as an advisor to overseas technology companies entering the Japanese market.

He also serves as a Principal of the Japan Business Model Association, an Advisor to UK-based Elliptic Enterprises Ltd. (digital asset AML). He holds an MBA from University of Cambridge and a BA in Economics from University of Tokyo.
